Chiefs signed QB Matt Cassel to a six-year, $63 million contract, including $28 million guaranteed and $40.5 million in the first three seasons.
The Chiefs would’ve been on the hook for an insane $14.651M salary had Cassel played his first season in Kansas City with no extension. Cassel, 27, has been a starter for one year of his life since high school. Committing top-five QB money (and ironically, more than Tom Brady makes) to Cassel is an enormous risk, but the Chiefs believe offensive guru Todd Haley can harness his solid all-around skill set. We think it’s a risk worth taking, but the contract could haunt the franchise for years if it goes sour.

We just don’t know who’s going to get goal-line carries. Regardless, Ward’s late fifth-round ADP sure seems low.

Cedric Benson, CIN RB

Though running backs coach Jim Anderson says that Benson’s attitude
and work ethic have been terrific since signing with the Bengals, I
still call him out as this weeks bust. Number one, he’s just not
fast enough, Number Two, well sorry to say it but his work ethic
and attitude have never had a positive impact on his play have
they? And Number Three, Cedric Benson has got a 2-year contract now and to me that’s gonna
make him a little too comfortable for my liking.

Over the years drafting a RB for your first 2 picks has been common knowledge
around the Fantasy Leagues… Times are changing though and the trends are leaning away from the RB, RB theory these days. I just don’t think its an automatic first running backs choice anymore. Now that’s not to say that if I had a pick in the top 4 picks this year that I wouldn’t choose a RB because I would, but come second pick it really is going to be a situation by situation option here. There are Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers that can be taken second and put up numbers equal to or more then some of the Running Backs going in the second round.
NOTE: Running back in 95% of leagues is still the most important position in fantasy football and some advice to head by, “You can never have to many running backs”
